6 Bald Eagle Group: Track Workouts
Good Morning All
It has been quite a winter for running but it is time to start doing some track work. after all, the Grand Blue Mile and the Drake Relays are only 4 weeks away. Therefore I would like to get started with track on this Wednesday. The forecast does show some rain but I am hoping that the rain will be early in the day and by late afternoon it will have stopped. that being said, if it is stormy and especially if there is lightning, it will be cancelled as we do not do track if there is lightning. I think we had to cancel a couple times last year for that reason. Now if it is too cold for you on Wednesday, not to worry. just show up on the following week.
As with other years, we always start out at the Hoover High track and we meet at 6 PM on Wednesdays. We always start out with 2 laps of warm up so if you wish to do extra warm ups, just show up early.
We always start track with a couple weeks of short workouts. As the weeks progress, our workouts will get longer. So for this week, lets plan on doing the following:
Long Workout 2 X 200s, 4 X 400s, 2 X 200s
Short Workout 8 X 200
